Validity

Evasan's Schengen travel insurance is valid in all Schengen area countries and the maximum cover per person is EUR 30.000 / USD 50.000 / CHF 50.000.

Assistance

Evasan will provide the assistance to the insured party during the trip. Medical assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for the insured party.

Emergency medical costs

In the event of illness or accident of the insured occurring outside the usual country of residence, the insurer (Evasan) will cover emergency medical and hospitalisation costs.

In order to obtain your Schengen visa you MUST buy a medical travel insurance.

When the insurance is taken out for a third party the insured party is the only beneficiary. Any commitments the policy holder may have made to the third party have no effect on the parties to this contract, even when those commitments have influenced its signing.

An insurance policy for a third party can never cover the policy holder and a third party simultaneously.

Age eligibility

Persons aged 70 or younger can get the coverage. Only in exceptional circumstances, the insurer (in this case SOS Evasan S.A.) may extend the cover to persons aged over 70 up to a maximum of 84 years. In that case, special rates will be applied.

Emergency care

In case of a sudden illness or an accident during your trip outside your country of domicile, Evasan will cover medical and hospitalisation costs.

Alarm Centre

Alarm Centre is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for the insured party. Also, alarm center services are provided by an experienced team comprising doctors, technicians and operators. All alarm center services are provided by the insurer.

Our Emergency Alarm Center provides the necessary intervention with 24/7/365 emergency assistance service.

Period of insurance cover

The period of insurance cover represents a period of time during which the insured party is protected from the risks specified in the cover.

All periods of cover must begin and end within the dates of the insurance policy term and its starting date must be included in the insurance policy. The period of cover starts at midnight of the starting date in the policy and ends at the midnight on the final day stated in the policy.

  • Who is the insured party?

    The person who will benefit from Evasan’s services.

  • What is understood by the term "family"?

    Two adults and their children aged 18 years and under, as identified on the policy document.

  • What is the maximum amount of compensation payable?

    The upper limit of services to be provided as stated in the Special Conditions (CPA) with respect to each form of insurance cover.

  • Alerting when there is an incident

    In order to benefit from Evasan’s services, the Alarm Centre (accessible 24/7, 365 days a year) must imperatively be contacted within 24 hours of the incident:

    If the insured party is unable to notify Evasan in the 24-hour period previously mentioned the notice provided as speedily as objectively possible by the insured party, policy holder, next of kin, the police, a medical establishment or any party to the incident, will be considered a valid notice.

  • Transport of next of kin

    If the insured party requires hospitalisation for at least 7 days prior to transfer or repatriation, Evasan will arrange and pay for a return journey in economy class for a next of kin to travel to the hospital in question. The latter is responsible for his own accommodation costs.
