Purpose of cover

To insure travellers, subject or not to entrance visas on the territory covered, travelling outside their country of domicile or habitual residence.
This additional cover is in addition to the obligatory social security cover and cover provided by any other insurance which the insured party may have taken out previously if this has proved to be insufficient.


Assistance is understood to mean a commitment by the insurer to provide immediate aid to the beneficiary of an insurance policy when the latter finds himself in difficulties as a result of a chance event, in the cases and conditions specified in the contract. However, providing emergency assistance does not exclude the possibility of receiving aid according to the CGA and CPA (the General and Special insurance conditions).

Emergency care

Evasan will cover medical and hospitalisation costs caused by a sudden illness or an accident which occurred when the insured party was travelling outside his country of domicile or habitual residence.

Translation services

In order to facilitate contact with the doctors treating the insured party or the authorities in the country where the insured party has been hospitalised following the incident, Evasan will pay for an interpreter for a maximum period corresponding to 8 hours interpreting work at the appropriate rate in the country in question if the assistance of an interpreter proves to be essential in view of the linguistic abilities of the insured party.

In order to obtain your Schengen visa you MUST buy a medical travel insurance.

When the insurance is taken out for a third party the insured party is the only beneficiary. Any commitments the policy holder may have made to the third party have no effect on the parties to this contract, even when those commitments have influenced its signing.

An insurance policy for a third party can never cover the policy holder and a third party simultaneously.

Age eligibility

This insurance is available to persons aged 70 or younger.
Under exceptional circumstances SOS Evasan S.A. can extend the coverage to persons aged between 70 up to a maximum of 84 years. Special rates will apply in this instance.

Period of cover

The period of coverage is the time within the policy duration during which the insured is protected from the risks detailed in the insurance contract.

The policy commences from midnight (12 pm) on the date specified in the policy and ends at midnight (12 pm) on the final day of the policy.

Alarm Centre

Alarm Centre is the assistance facilities and team comprising doctors, technicians and operators provided by the insurer to offer 24/7 service to insured parties every single day of the year.

All our products combine travel insurance with extensive 24/7/365 emergency assistance services provided by our Emergency Alarm Center.

Sport option

The sports option covers the risks associated with practicing sports or other leisure activities which are not specified in the general or specific exclusion clauses of these General Conditions of Insurance (CGA) and Special Conditions (CPA).

If you intend to practice one of these sports during the period of cover or one of the periods of cover, you are required to mention this in application. If application is accepted, confirmation of the sports option and an additional premium will be noted in the policy document.


General informations

  • Who is the insured party?

    The person who will benefit from Evasan’s services.

  • What is understood by the term "family"?

    Two adults and their children aged 18 years and under, as identified on the policy document.

  • What is the maximum amount of compensation payable?

    The upper limit of services to be provided as stated in the Special Conditions (CPA) with respect to each form of insurance cover.

  • Alerting when there is an incident

    In order to benefit from Evasan’s services, the Alarm Centre (accessible 24/7, 365 days a year) must imperatively be contacted within 24 hours of the incident:

    If the insured party is unable to notify Evasan in the 24-hour period previously mentioned the notice provided as speedily as objectively possible by the insured party, policy holder, next of kin, the police, a medical establishment or any party to the incident, will be considered a valid notice.

  • Transport of next of kin

    If the insured party requires hospitalisation for at least 7 days prior to transfer or repatriation, Evasan will arrange and pay for a return journey in economy class for a next of kin to travel to the hospital in question. The latter is responsible for his own accommodation costs.
