Health insurance

Health insurance is vital regardless of your age or circumstances. It doesn’t matter what your reasons for travelling are, for example students, NGO employees and professionals seeking employment in other countries must still have the right type of insurance in place. You may think you have the correct level of coverage but take care to ensure that you fulfill the destination country’s insurance requirements. Certain countries will require you to have what is known as “supplementary health insurance”. Evasan can check for you and provide you with the right insurance, depending on your destination and the length of your stay. Medical insurance will protect you against the costs that arise out of medical treatment, which depending on the destination country can be very high.

The next time you embark on a trip, be it for holiday purposes, business or for a short unexpected break, take some time to check if you have sufficient health insurance to cover you for unexpected events. You have probably heard it all before – but have you ever taken the time to read the fine print? Even if you think you’re covered, check again because often it’s the small print that excludes you from vital coverage when you need it.

Having the right insurance in place for your trip will give you additional peace of mind as you will be safe in the knowledge that if any medical emergencies or illnesses occur they will be dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Having access to a 24/7 alarmcenter with experts who can advise, help and take care of your needs is one of those added benefits to help you travel feeling at ease. That’s what Evasan offers as part of its health insurance coverage.

If you’re in possession of the European Health Insurance Card you will be able to benefit from healthcare services when abroad. It’s an add-on to traditional health insurance in place in each of the countries that are part of the scheme. This mainly covers EU countries but other countries are included such as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Norway. However, it does not apply to everyone, for example, some travellers inside Europe may not be covered such as students travelling abroad, diplomats, those seeking employment in European countries and NGO employees so check and if not, Evasan will organize your complete travel insurance for your trip. We should mention that the European Health Card is not to be mixed up with the Schengen visa insurance (be careful with the wrong spelling: Shengen), the latter being mandatory travel insurance required when applying for a visa.
