Schengen Visa Insurance

Travel insurance for Schengen visa is intended for persons who are planning to travel to Schengen area countries. If your country is on the list of those countries whose citizens are obliged to obtain Schengen visa, in that case, Schengen visa insurance is mandatory.

In order to prevent that your request for a Schengen visa is denied, your Schengen travel insurance has to meet the following requirements:

  • Has to be valid in all Schengen area countries for the whole duration of the journey
  • Must have a minimum coverage of €30,000
  • Has to cover emergency medical expenses and repatriation costs

Schengen visa basics

The Schengen visa allows you to stay on the territory of the countries that are members of the Schengen area. You can stay within the Schengen area for a maximum of 90 days in any 180-day period.

Currently, there are 26 member states of the Schengen Area: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

What documents are required for obtaining Schengen visa?

    • the passport must be valid for three months past the visa expiration date
  • Recent photo

  • Purpose of your travel
    • proof of accommodation (hotel/hostel confirmation)

  • Civil status certificates
    • birth certificate
